Focused Learning: MLA
In a video by a tutor for the Texas State Technical college, found here, I leaned about the fundamentals of in-text citation and works-cited. For in text citation, in either a paraphrase/summary/direct quote, the author's last name needed to be added in parentheses at the end of the sentence with the period after the end parentheses. If the Author's name cannot be found, the title of the article should replace it (Martinez).
Though the video itself was fairly long, and did not get to the point until the end, it was fairly informational. I enjoyed how I could watch the citations being made as the speaker was explaining what she was doing, since I am both a visual and auditory learner. This video will definitely help me receive a higher grade on my citations for my upcoming papers!
